How to keep your fall arrest block safe and usable: 5 essential tips
A fall arrest block is a handy piece of fall protection equipment. You click it onto an anchor point and can move freely, while still being safe if you fall. Inside is a centrifugal braking mechanism that activates in the event of a sudden movement. This means that the fall distance is very short. The forces on the body are reduced to a maximum of 6 kN (= 600 kg).
Use of Milan evacuation or rescue equipment: risk without valid certificate
On a daily basis, we do quite a bit of work “at height” in our low-lying country. Whether it's on construction sites, in industry or on wind turbines. Nicky van Oorschot is an expert in working safely at height at Safe Site Powered by Mennens. ‘An evacuation or rescue device such as the Milan is often used, but it is useless and dangerous if you don't know how to use it and if you haven't been trained by a certified instructor.’
Three new overhead cranes for Dongen site
Safety is paramount when it comes to hoisting and lifting work. This applies to our customers as well as to Mennens itself. That is why our colleagues in the workshop at our Dongen site have recently started working with three brand-new overhead cranes, manufactured by our colleagues in Groningen.
Recording webinar: working with cranes and associated lifting equipment
Is everyone in your workplace aware of the conditions for working safely with cranes and lifting equipment? There are still more accidents than necessary: every one is one too many. What's more, lifting can often be more efficient if we use cranes more effectively.
Our host Cees Schipperen, an expert in the field of cranes and lifting equipment, explained everything about this in a webinar.
