How often should my fall protection equipment be inspected?

Fall protection equipment must be inspected at least once a year by a competent person. In addition, inspection is required after every fall. Reference: NEN-EN 365.

What are the consequences if my advice or equipment does not comply?

Non-compliance can lead to project downtime, substantial fines from the Netherlands Labour Authority, and, in the event of an accident, criminal prosecution. A comprehensive advisory report from a certified party minimizes this risk.

Is a rescue plan really mandatory?

Yes, a rescue plan is a mandatory part of working at height. You must be able to demonstrate how you can quickly and safely evacuate a colleague who is suspended in a harness. Reference: Working Conditions Decree (Arbobesluit), Article 3.16.

How long is a Mennens certificate valid?

What is the difference between an RI&E and a TRA?

An RI&E (Risk Inventory & Evaluation) is a broad analysis of all risks within your organization. A TRA (Task Risk Analysis) focuses on the specific risks of a single task or project.
