Installation of fall protection systems

From risk assessment to certified handover: your guarantee for safety at height. Working at height is often unavoidable, but the risk isn’t. A fall protection system only provides true security when it is perfectly designed, engineered, and installed for your specific situation.

Working at height is often unavoidable, but the risk is not. However, a fall protection system only provides certainty if it is perfectly designed, calculated and installed for your specific situation. Incorrect installation creates a false sense of security and poses a hidden liability risk.

Mennens does not provide standard installations, but a fully engineered safety solution. Our specialists design, install and certify permanent fall protection systems that demonstrably comply with the strictest standards.

Why Choose Mennens

Why professional installation is crucial

Choosing an expert installation partner goes beyond simply installing anchor points. It is a strategic decision for the safety and continuity of your operations.

  • Legal liability: As an employer, you have a duty of care under the Working Conditions Act. A system designed and certified by Mennens ensures compliance with this obligation and relevant NEN standards.
  • Prevent false safety: An incorrectly installed anchor point or poorly designed lifeline system can fail under load. Our expertise in engineering and structural design eliminates this risk.
  • Durability and TCO: A correctly installed system, tailored to the environment and usage, has a longer service life and requires less corrective maintenance, reducing the total cost of ownership.

In addition to installing fall protection systems, we also offer training for safe working at height and in confined spaces. Watch the video for more information.

Our solutions: a system for every situation

We design and install a wide range of permanent fall protection systems, always tailored to the specific application and surface.

Horizontal systems

For working safely along roofs, facades, above machinery or in production halls:

  • Permanent rail systems
  • Horizontal steel cable systems
  • Individual anchor points (in accordance with NEN-EN 795)

Vertical systems

For safe climbing and access to masts, ladders and other vertical structures:

  • Permanent climbing rail systems
  • Vertical steel cable systems
  • Cage ladders and access ladders

Our expertise spans a wide range of environments, from new construction and industrial settings to complex infrastructures such as wind turbines, tower cranes, and offshore installations.

How we work: our installation process

We follow a structured process that ensures quality from the initial design right through to the final screw.

  1. Analysis & design (RI&E): Our specialists begin with a risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E) on site. We analyse the working environment, the structure and the required work. Based on this, we engineer the most effective and safe solution.
  2. Professional installation: Our VCA-certified fitters install the system in accordance with the approved design and the applicable installation guidelines. They have the expertise to work on concrete, steel, masonry and other complex surfaces.
  3. Handover & certification: After installation, the entire system is tested, validated and certified in accordance with the NEN-EN 795 standard. You will receive a complete handover dossier containing all the necessary documentation for your records.
  4. User instructions: A system is only safe if it is used correctly. We can provide instruction or training for end-users, ensuring they use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.

Management and insight with Certif

After certified installation, we can immediately register the new system in Mennens Certif. Here, you can manage the status, certificates, and scheduling of the mandatory annual inspection. This ensures you remain fully compliant at all times.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will receive a certificate of conformity confirming that the system has been installed and approved in accordance with the NEN-EN 795 standard and the manufacturer’s specifications. This document serves as proof of your compliance.

Yes, every permanent fall protection system must be inspected and certified at least once a year by a competent person. Mennens can carry out these periodic inspections for you.

Our engineers and installers have expertise with a wide range of substrates, including concrete, steel structures, masonry, and various types of roofing. For each situation, the appropriate fixing method is calculated and applied.

A rail system is a rigid system that deflects less and often runs more smoothly, making it ideal for intensive use. A cable system is more flexible, can span longer distances, and is often a more economical choice for longer runs. The right choice depends on the application.
